Home Loan

Thinking about taking out a home loan ? Let the Nerd tell you about a few of the things you need to look out for before you decide on the home loan!

Home Loan

There are too many countrywide home loan lenders out there taking advantage of would-be homeowners everyday. If the borrowers don't know much about mortgages, they can really be taken for a ride which they can end up paying for for years. That's why the Nerd has researched the subject in-depth. Yes, the nerd knows all about the home improvement loan.

Home Loan scams and you

Let's talk about a few of the things that filthy, thieving lenders will do to make a grab at the equity on your home under the guise of the home loan . Generally, the main objective for crooked mortgage brokers and lenders is to trick the unsuspecting homeowner into thinking that they are getting a good deal or some extra dough in their pocket with a home loan. The borrower can really only fall for these scams if they are ignorant about the process of taking out a home loan. That is why it is so important for us to be in the know and beat the bad guys at their own game!

Cash-out refinancing lies

Cash-out refinancing is when the homeowner takes out a loan for more than the balance left on the first mortgage and actually replaces it. This can be and is done legitimately, but here we are only discussing the more unsavory tactics. The home loan lender puts cash into the borrower's pocket while at the same time increasing their burden. The interest rate will increase and large fees will be included in the home loan. The obligation for repayment will be so exorbitant now that the borrower cannot meet it. Mission accomplished for the lender of the home loan who knew the borrower would default and in turn loose his house. The lender has now hit the payday jackpot as he snatches up the homeowners equity.

This can also be done when an unsuspecting borrower in convinced by a lender to contract for repairs on his home at an inflated price plus high home loan fees which are rolled into the mortgage. It all ends up to be at a cost that the borrower cannot afford and, as expected, he defaults and the equity falls straight into the hands of the lender!

Borrower Beware!

The best way to protect yourself from a lender swindling you is to do your homework about home loans. Whether you are refinancing or taking out a home equity loan, it is always best to shop around as many lenders have various rates and specific services. There are also financial counseling services which can really be an asset to your protection against much of the fraud in the home loan market today.
